DeoxIT ® Power Booster is a fast-acting deoxidizing solution that cleans, preserves, lubricates and improves conductivity on all metal connectors and contacts. Use as a general treatment for connectors, contacts and other metal surfaces, and on non-critical metal surfaces with severe oxidation and corrosion. If the metal surface is discolored, it is severe. DeoxIT ® dissolves the contamination and protects the surface. For reference, DeoxIT ® has approximately 20% cleaning action. This is a must have for cleaning all mains and signal connectors. Deoxit result in a noticable performance improvement.

The Black Diamond Racing Pyramid Cones Mk3 and Mk4 are the initial interface in a vibration control system. With a crush point of over 4,500 kg, the Pyramid Cones can be used virtually anywhere. The proper placement will significantly effect the performance of the cones so the rule of thumb is the tip of the cone towards the resonant surface. For example, under a CD transport sitting on an MDF shelf, the tips of the cones should be pointing down.

The Well Tempered Amadeus range of turntables are designed and built with one goal in mind; maximum enjoyment from your analogue record collection. Our unique designs, most of which are patent registered let nothing stand in the way of you and your music. Our approach, which may on the face of it may seem simplistic is in fact the reverse and has taken countless hours of research and thinking outside the square. For instance, while many manufacturers labour endlessly to design the perfect tonearm bearing, we just eliminate it!

Chord generally favour a combination of silver-plated conductors and Teflon insulation, believing that this produces an extremely neutral tonal characteristic. The Codac Silver Plus however uses a low-density gas foamed polyethylene insulator in order to reduce the dielectric constant. This allows us to produce an extremely cost effective and accurate digital interconnect.

Optical digital standard, metal bodied, gold tipped toslink plugs and a wide domed and polished signal core end. In theory, all optical cables should produce pretty similar results. In practice, this is not the case. In comparisons with other optical cables the Optichord produces a more accurate tonal characteristic and a vibrant and lively sound from the system it is connected to.

We experimented with several cable geometries before settling on the twisted pair configuration that we have used ever since. Following repeated listening tests, we felt this configuration offered some genuine advantages over the more commonly used heavy gauge parallel pair designs that were commonly used at the time.

Factory Terminated 3m Pair – single to single wired. Chord Carnival SilverScreen offers a set of performance characteristics that make it unique at its price point. The oxygen free copper multi stranded conductors used in Carnival SilverScreen have been borrowed from the Chord Carnival Classic. Likewise the low-density polyethylene insulation and twisted pair configuration. The conductors are surrounded by a soft PVC casing that provides excellent mechanical damping characteristics. This is surrounded by a heavily overlapped dual foil shielding system and this in turn is surrounded and protected by a translucent PVC outer jacket, again with excellent mechanical damping characteristics.

The electrical supply within our houses is becoming increasingly polluted. The typical household now has around 40 microprocessors and many of the electronic components we now use are fitted with switch mode power supplies. The Chord Co established some years ago that high frequency electrical interference was having a seriously detrimental effect on the performance of both hi-fi and home cinema systems and this discovery prompted the development of firstly the Signature interconnect and then the Signature speaker cable. The PowerChord will enhance the stereo image and improve the space around individual voices and instruments.

Epic Super Twin is primarily intended as a bi-wire cable, contains two sets of twisted conductors and has an overall diameter of 16mm. Epic Super Twin can also be used as a dual-conductor cable and used like this is particularly useful for connecting to speakers that demand a high current. The two negative conductors are simply joined together at both ends and likewise the positive. Wired like this, Epic Super Twin can really improve the dynamic performance of a demanding speaker.

Epic Twin is a dual conductor cable with an overall diameter of 11mm. Chord Epic speaker cable is the result of a successful marriage of two of Chord’s award winning speaker cables. The silver-plated oxygen free copper conductors, Teflon insulation and silicone surround are borrowed from Chord Odyssey speaker cable and the shielding system is taken from the Chord Signature speaker cable. The development and success of Signature speaker cable proved conclusively that shielding speaker cable could bring some serious improvements to sound quality.

Odyssey 4 is a bi-wire cable. The silicone outer jacket contains two sets of twisted pair conductors. The overall diameter is 13mm. Chord Odyssey speaker cable shares its principal design features with Chord Rumour. Rumour 2 is a twin conductor cable with an overall diameter of 6mm. Chord Rumour was the first speaker cable that Chord produced. The Chord iCHORD was developed in response to demand for a high quality interconnect to allow hi-fi enthusiasts to connect their portable players to their main systems. The twin internal conductors and the coaxial configuration are unique to the iCHORD cable and will carry WAV and MP3 signals equally well. Like the Signature Plus the most striking feature of the Chord Indigo Plus is the beautiful acrylic plug casing. Each one is hand machined to an exacting tolerance and polished to a mirror finish. Acrylic was chosen for its ability to control resonances around the RCA/phono plug contact areas and in comparisons with conventional RCA/phono plugs, the combination of low mass contact area and the resonance damping acrylic plug casing produced a markedly cleaner and more detailed sound. The Chord Signature Plus represents a real step forward in the world of interconnect cables. Based on the award winning Chord Signature, the Signature Plus is fitted with the ultra low mass RCA plugs first used on the company’s Indigo cable, along with the unique vibration damping machined acrylic plug surrounds used to such good effect on the Indigo. The Chord Signet RCA is an innovative new interconnect cable from Chord. Based on the award winning Chord Signature and borrowing both the plug and high frequency shielding system used on the Anthem 2, the Signet performs every bit as well as the company’s original Signature cable. What makes the Signet so special is that it can be returned to Chord and upgraded! Purchase a Chord Signet and when the upgrade bug next bites, return the cable to Chord and have it upgraded to the Chord Signature Plus. Extra $1000 per metre of cable.

The original Chord Anthem was one of the first available interconnects to use a high frequency shield. It was also the first Chord interconnect to be fitted with the ultra low mass RCA/phono plug still used on the Anthem, Signature and Indigo interconnects. The silver-plated combined shielding system fitted to the Anthem 2 protects a Teflon insulated multi strand silver-plated signal conductor. This configuration extends the bandwidth that the Anthem 2 will carry, and whilst the benefits of this are clearly audible throughout the frequency range, anyone fitting the Anthem 2 to a system with speakers capable of serious bass extension will be able to feel as well as hear the benefits! Extra $500 per metre of cable.

The Chorus 2 benefits from the combined shielding system first developed for the Chord Signature and the Chord Indigo interconnect cables. The shielding system is used to protect the Teflon insulated, solid core silver-plated signal conductor. The signal return path is carried externally ensuring that the central signal conductor is completely isolated. The combination of the silver-plated conductor and Teflon insulation enables the Chorus 2 to accurately carry a wide bandwidth signal. Extra $400 per metre of cable.

The Chameleon Silver Plus is the first interconnect in the range to use silver-plated conductors in combination with Teflon insulation. This is a combination of materials that the Chord Company use extensively and the improvements they bring to dynamic, detail and tonal transmission are very obvious. Correctly used, silver-plated conductors can help to bring real definition to the often complex information that makes up the harmonic signature of a musical instrument. Cymbals really benefit, as do acoustic guitars and pianos and the timbre of acoustic instruments is more apparent. Extra $85 per metre of cable.

Cobra has been part of the Chord range for almost as long as the Chrysalis and is another good example of how a cable design evolves. The original Cobra was a co-axial design; Cobra 3 uses a pseudo-balanced conductor configuration along with vibration controlling conductor spacers. The conductors are twisted along the length of the cable and insulated with low density polyethylene. The braided shield surrounds both conductors and spacers and is mechanically and electrically isolated from the signal path. Extra $55 per metre of cable.

If you want to enjoy music from a digital source, like a CD, DVD player or computer, you need to first convert it from digital information to analog information. The Momentum 4i is a full range 2.5-way iso-baric floorstanding design which uses four drive units in each enclosure. Iso-baric loading is a familiar feature on Neat loudspeakers, this being our favoured system for delivering exemplary bass performance. Standard finishes are oak, maple, cherry and rosenut, though other finishes are available to special order.

The iso-baric principle is exploited in quite a radical way in the design of the Momentum 4i, which features two 6.5″ bass drive units in an integral subwoofer arrangement (this part of the system is hidden from view). An ‘Ultimatum’ type bass/midrange main driver then handles frequencies up to the crossover point, where the latest version of our ‘NMT’ inverted titanium dome tweeter, with its extended HF response, takes over.

This gauge is identical (non branded) to the Well Tempered labs gauge which retails for $299.00. It comes with a calibration weight and a funky little case. We tested several Linn Arms which had been correctly set up to track at 1.75 grams only to find this gauge revealed they were tracking up to .6 grams out. This reduces the performance and longevity of any cartridge significantly. The Rega RB-300 arm we tested produced a reading that was even further out. (reading 1.5g actual 1.9). This is huge!!

Dialing in your correct tracking force is absolutely essential for optimal record playback. If you miss on the heavy side, your sound becomes thick and sluggish. Miss on the light side, and your cartridge is more likely to mistrack and the sound will be light and anemic. This gauge will accurately read your tracking force within .001 grams. So stop messing with those mechanical stylus balances that aren’t even accurate. This is one case where digital makes more sense when it comes to fine-tuning your analog.

The Momentum 3i is a compact 2-way iso-baric bookshelf/standmount design, measuring 38 x 22 x 27cm (hwd). Don’t be fooled by this unassuming modesty – this is
a real heavyweight contender with giant-killing credentials. Here, the benefits of iso-baric bass loading combine with the significant virtues of a compact enclosure – to magnificent effect. All of the drive units used in the Momentum models are custom-made to Neat Acoustics’ specifications. Unlike most bass reflex designs, the ELITE SX incorporates an innovative staggered port tuning design. This carefully judged system delivers a very convincing full-bodied bass performance, far more impressive than might be expected for such a small enclosure. The cabinet is raised above a plinth of solid slate, chosen for its superior bass control and midrange precision.

The PETITE SX is the latest development of a classic loudspeaker which began life in 1989. A small two-way bass reflex design, it is capable of exceptional bass extension and drive, and a remarkable presentation of all types of music. The main drive unit is the latest version of that used in the upmarket Ultimatum range; a 6.5” doped paper cone with a ferrite magnet assembly and vented voice coil to enable high power handling without compression. The tweeter used in the SX is a soft-fabric dome type with internal damping and a non-resonant chamber.

In common with Neat’s earlier stand mount models, the Motive 3 once again raises the standard of sound quality expected from a speaker of this size and price. Ideal for use in smaller spaces or as a rear speaker in a multi-channel system, this speaker has an open and strikingly clear sound with faithful dynamics and a focussed stereo image. At only 76cm high, the Motive 2 is an exceptionally compact floorstander for those who want all the musical performance of a Neat floorstander without taking over the living room. Standard finishes are oak, maple, cherry and rosenut, though other finishes are available to special order.

The Motive 2 is a two-way, bass reflex design with the same port and plinth arrangement as the Motive One. The plinth offers a stable platform for the speaker whilst providing a slight backward tilt to maintain the ideal angle for optimum performance. In common with its bigger brother, the Motive Two surprises with its astonishing bass and beautifully open mid range.

Although this is the taller of the two floorstanders in the Motive range, the Motive 1 is nevertheless a compact and elegant model. It will blend discreetly into your living room whilst its performance gives little away to larger and more expensive models.

This loudspeaker uses a two and half-way configuration where the lower unit reproduces bass to underpin the full-range bass-mid driver. The bass reflex port is fitted to the bottom panel of the cabinet and is vented through an outlet in the stylishly sculpted MDF plinth. The original Te Kaitora cartridge was the result of collaboration between Dynavector Japan and Dynavector New Zealand. The Te Kaitora allowed analogue enthusiasts to embark on a voyage of discovery to the outer limits of vinyl reproduction.

The improved Te Kaitora Rua continues the journey by incorporating many of the newest features of its Dynavector stable-mates, the XV-1s and XX-2. The Te Kaitora Rua has even managed to improve on the original’s silk-like treble and openness.

The DV XX-1 was the first cartridge to feature a “magnetic flux damper” (patent) and softened magnetism” (patent) processes that reject the magnetic fluctuation that is detrimental to a moving coil cartridges performance. The The DV XX-2 MKII retains the benefit of the flux damper but features the Alinco-5 magnet and the similar rigid construction to the Te Kaitora Rua.

The main change to the new Dynavector 17D3 is an improvement in the design of the front yoke. This appears, on the surface, to be a small difference yet contributes to a greatly improved overall performance justifying a model number change. The new yoke improves focus in the magnetic circuit and in combination with the flux damping mechanism and softened magnetism (patent) gives accurate sonic qualities leading to a very natural sound. The change has also enabled a useful increase in output to 0.3mV.

DV-20X has a solid aluminium-alloy body similar to the XX-2. This makes a rigid platform for the cartridge motor and aids secure fitting to the arm. The cantilever is a 6mm length hard aluminium pipe cantilever with a Micro-Ridge diamond stylus. The magnetic flux damping and softened magnetism along with powerful Neodymium magnet gives out the 20XH a healthy 2.8 mV output at a suitable impedance for most MM inputs. The 20XL has an output of 0.3 mV ideal for most MC phono stage.

The Dynavector 10X series High Output Moving Coil cartridge debuted in 1978 winning the prestigious Design and Engineering Award at the Chicago CES in both 1978 and 1981. The 10X series cartridges are also widely accepted as the benchmark in High Output moving coil cartridge at this price point and beyond.

The OBELISK is the first loudspeaker designed and produced in 1977. At the time, its shape and acoustical disposition were considered radical. Today it is positively conservative compared to what has come and gone. It was kind of a “first,” but its durability over the years is not due to novelty as much as its absolute performing superiority. It has been revised several times as new, exciting technology and devices appeared.

The ARC represents the very essence of our design philosophy. A refined reduction of the Citation 13 which I (Richard) designed in 1970 at Harman-Kardon, it is the synthesis of 30 years of investigation into loudspeaker geometry. Cost-effective, compact, elegant, flexible, ideally suited for reproduction of natural instruments and voices. Its vertical, angular, indirect presentation produces such a sense of effortless space, as to make most conventional speakers sound like mistakes. (Which they are, anyway, so there!) Seriously, though, the ARC is so convincing in its re-creation of the real event, one concentrates on the music and forgets the means.

The third generation of Brio the Brio 3 now boasts a modified power supply and up-rated power transformer. The increased power output (49 watts per channel into 8W) of the Brio 3 greatly improves control and musical performance over its predecessor. Rather than having unnecessary gadgets and frills usually found on products in this price range, the Brio 3 utilises the highest quality components to achieve the best sonic performance.

The Radio 3 follows suit from the previous Rega Radio 2000. The product is greatly improved in terms of performance, looks and user interfacing. The first thing you will notice is the redesigned front panel, the product now closely matches the rest of the range, which imbodies an increased display panel size, that has the same Vacuum Fluoresent Display as the Planet CD player. The control buttons have been ergonomically designed to be more user friendly, and match the rest of the product range.

The Elicit is an 80-Watt integrated amplifier, which can be the heart of a traditional two-channel system, or integrated into a multi channel system where no compromise two-channel performance is required. The Elicit has a direct input feeding the power amplifier, which for example, can be a signal from a multi channel processor etc; and a pre-amplifier output, which enables the amplifier to be expanded to drive Bi-amplifier(s) or active or multiple speaker systems, for example, subs bass etc. The gain of the power amplifier is 28dB for full output, which makes it compatible with a wide variety of other power amplifiers. The amplifier is fully short circuit and DC protected.

The Rega Cursa 3 Amplifier is a high performance audio pre-amplifier using the Improved “type 3″ Rega Alpha-Encoder control system comprising of high quality loss-less relays, and a digitally controlled analog switched resistor network volume control. The Cursa 3 is housed in the Rega custom-built extruded aluminum case.

Rega has further improved the technical & sonic performance by using a dual FET differential input stage within the discrete Op-Amp circuit.Evox Polypropylene capacitors have been used in the signal path. The flexibility has been further improved by adding a second Tape input.

The Rega Mira 3 Amplifier is a high performance audio amplifier using the Improved “type 3” Rega Alpha-Encoder control system comprising of high quality loss-less relays, plus a digitally controlled analog switched resistor network volume control. The Mira 3 is housed in the Rega custom-built extruded aluminium case incorporating a high thermal efficiency heat sink. Rega has kept the same level of performance and synergy between stages as in the original Mira 2000 amplifier with a better level of functionality & controllability in the volume control user interface.

The Exon 3 is a high performance symmetrical circuit power amplifier housed in the new Rega built extruded aluminium case with heat sink. Rega has improved on the original Exon power amplifier but still kept the same level of sonic performance and synergy as the original.

The Maia 3 is an 85 watt per channel high performance audio power amplifier housed in the Rega custom built extruded aluminium case. The amplifier has a fully protected output stage with DC and electronic thermal protection, and a power monitor for both transformers. High quality Evox capacitors have been used in the signal path throughout.

Every Rega Bass and Bass/Mid unit is hand assembled, in house, to our exact specifications. This gives us enormous flexibility in design and ensures Rega speakers produce a unique sound compared to OEM drivers purchased ‘off the shelf ‘.

The RS1 loudspeaker uses our classic RR125 Bass/Mid drive unit. This unit offers excellent damping of resonances, and a unique paper cone. The RR125 has a smooth response which aids seamless Bass driver integration and exceptional timing.
