Naim

NaimUniti all in one audio player

The NaimUniti combines a ten-input, 50-Watt-perchannel integrated amplifier based on the award-winning NAIT 5i, a CD player based on the similarly acclaimed CD5i, and a digital-to-analogue converter with an output filter derived from that developed for the stunning CD5x. To all that, NaimUniti adds a high quality DAB/FM tuner, the ability to play streamed audio files wirelessly from UPnP™ servers or internet radio stations, and separate interface inputs for USB memory sticks carrying audio files, iPods and mp3 players. NaimUniti has every base covered; you just need a pair of speakers

Additional DescriptionMore Details

NaimUniti has an analogue heart. Its NAIT 5i-derived integrated amplifier beats true to our long established design philosophies and is the foundation of the NaimUniti's audio quality. But in parallel with audio quality, it is NaimUniti’s immense digital versatility that sets it apart from any other all-in-one audio product. Its comprehensive coverage of audio bases includes audio formats as well as audio sources. So along with Red Book CD audio, FM and DAB radio, and iRadio streams at multiple bit rates, NaimUniti can play audio files in MP3, Windows Media–formatted content, AAC, Apple Lossless (from your iPod), FLAC and WAV formats. And thanks to NaimUniti's internal DAC, external digital audio sources, such as satellite TVs or games consoles, are a breeze too. NaimUniti is the perfect audio hub.

Versatility is however little use without accessibility. NaimUniti's coherent and intuitive user interface makes using and navigating around each of its audio sources child's play. NaimUniti finds DAB or iRadio stations without prompting; it connects to networks and discovers UPnP™ server shared audio files automatically, and it presents everything via a large front panel display that's the model of clarity. Every CD track, audio file, stream or source is literally just a couple of button presses away. NaimUniti also works seamlessly with iPod devices. Simply connect an iPod to the interface socket, using Naim's specially-designed iPod cable: the n-Link, and NaimUniti both takes over iPod control and displays iPod contents. It charges the iPod battery too.

There’s never been a more exciting time to be an audio enthusiast and NaimUniti is an audio product whose time has come. NaimUniti: All in one, for one and all

Naim Nait 5i Four Input Integrated Amplifier

The new NAIT 5i is the latest iteration of Naim’s fabled entry-level amplifier bringing enhanced performance and usability over its highly regarded predecessor. The most noticeable change is perhaps the addition of a convenient iPod/MP3 player input on its front panel. Within its incredibly sturdy chassis numerous design upgrades elevate its musical performance to even greater heights. These include improved ceramic heat sinking, restructured cabling, and circuit changes to lower distortion and improve RF rejection. All these add up to provide a substantial improvement in this amazing amplifier’s already class-leading performance.

The NAIT 5i naturally forms a wholly synergistic partner for the CD5i CD player. Together they provide the perfect and most cost-effective introduction to Naim system ownership. There’s a long Naim tradition of the NAIT Integrated Amplifier punching above its weight. It began with the original NAIT in 1983 and continues now with the NAIT 5i. Although the recent introduction of the SUPERNAIT represents the current state-of the-art for integrated designs, the NAIT 5i remains a superb and cost-effective introduction to the Naim sound for those who don’t require the SUPERNAIT’s advanced features and capabilities.

Additional DescriptionMore Details

The NAIT 5i delivers fifty Watts into real loudspeaker loads, each Watt with the legendary Naim rhythmic drive and musical integrity. Entry level it may be, but the music it makes is detailed, engaging and recognisably Naim. It borrows many of the latest Naim amplifier innovations to become the finest sounding integrated ever to carry the logo.

Versatility is vital for an entry level amplifier. The Nait 5i makes integration with existing systems easy by incorporating phono socket inputs alongside the traditional DIN sockets, and offers the possibility of use with a wide range of speaker cable types. Integration with audio visual systems is handled through a programmable “unity gain” input. The 5i is intuitive in use too. A true plug and play product.

Naim NAC-202 Six Input Control Preamp

The Naim NAC 202 combines first-class sound quality with flexibility, style and excellent value. Significant improvements in technology led to an entirely new range using new high quality star-earthed circuit boards, combining the classic Naim values of musicality and power with flexibility and value.

The Naim NAC 202 may either be powered by a NAP 150 or NAP 200 amplifier or significantly upgraded by adding Naim power supplies to independently feed the analogue audio and digital control circuits. Low-resonance circuit boards and anti-vibration, resonance controlling feet minimize the effect of microphonic vibration on the highly sensitive electronic components.

    Additional DescriptionMore Details

Carefully matched precision rotary potentiometers with precious metal wipers are used to ensure long-term stability and preserve musical integrity. The intelligent balance control combines a high quality motorised potentiometer for the best performance with intelligent circuitry to indicate the centre position. The NAC 202 features a silent microprocessor that sleeps during listening and controls all aspects of the amplifier including: optical protection circuits that continuously monitor the power supplies ensuring safe shut down in the event of a power cut; user-configurable 'Smart IR' remote control for simple easy and control of the naim system.

The six inputs on the Naim NAC 202 can be selected directly from either the front panel or the NARCOM system remote. In addition to the usual DIN plug inputs, preferred for their superior earthing and impedance matching, two of the inputs can be configured for use with the more common RCA phono connectors, allowing a wide range of non-Naim cables and components to be used. A dedicated unity-gain input is also provided for use with the Naim AV2 processor or similar.

    FEATURES

  • Six line-level inputs including two user-configurable versatile (DIN / phono) inputs.
  • User configurable unity-gain AV input.
  • Powered input for use with Stageline or Prefix phono stage.
  • Full infrared remote control.
  • RC5 input for wired remote control in complex installations.
  • Optional RS232 input / output for use in full home automation systems.
  • Upgradeable with both analogue (Hi-Cap, Super-Cap) and digital (NAPSC) power supplies.

    Naim NAP-200 Power Amplifier

During the years of research that went into the NAP 500 amplifier, many technical developments were made that could be successfully applied to the existing products. Many of these developments, along with the elegant new styling have been incorporated, resulting in the ‘Classic’ line-up. Like the flagship NAP 500, the NAP 200 uses a new circuit design with improved earthing arrangements built on a very high quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board. Anti-vibration, resonance-controlling feet serve to protect the sensitive internal components from resonance and microphonic vibration.

    Additional DescriptionMore Details

A new, top-quality 430VA toroidal transformer provides more than 300VA of transient power. Separate windings provide dedicated left and right channel rectified supplies with two smoothing capacitors per channel. The NAP 200 also has a separate winding providing a preamplifier power supply. This enables the NAP 200 to be used in a two-box amplifier configuration with a Naim preamplifier such as the NAC 202. The naim NAP 200 is stable into any load and able to drive a 2-ohm load for long periods of time.
