Aidas Durawood Bee CU Series Stereo MC Phono Cartridge
The Aidas Durawood Bee is part of the CU (copper) range of wonderful cartridges made by Aidas Svazas and his team of passionate technicians and artisans. Featuring the same Mk2 Aidas generator custom-made by Namiki Japan that is also found in their cartridges further up the range, this cartridge uses a Durawood body material which is created with multicoloured layers. Apart from being aesthetically beautiful, this material also plays an important part in the sound of the cartridge due to the way it deals with vibrations.
The Durawood Bee is an exceptional cartridge with a very expressive way with music. Transients are snappy, tonality is natural and frequency extension is superb. It tracks well with a fast, rich bass presentation, an articulate midrange and ethereal high frequencies. Detail retrieval is excellent, presenting a sophisticated sound with lots of information but not clinical. Its ability to render acoustic instruments is superb, with natural tonalities and timbral characteristics a highlight. Music has a wonderful flow with plenty of flow and presence.
The Durawood Bee presents music holistically, allowing the details to shine within the context of the whole sonic picture – a real music lover’s delight.
