Air Tight ATE-5 Phono Equalizer Amplifier
Simplicity in AirTight way
The ATE-5 is a simple phono equalizer from Airtight, a company that has always strived to create what it wants to create.
While the flagship phono stage "ATE-3011" aimed to be the "ultimate phono stage" capable of reproducing numerous equalizing curves by individually combining three tone arms and turnover/ roll-off, the "ATE-5" is a phono equalizer that embodies Airtight's style of "minimalism." Everything except the bare essentials for vinyl playback has been removed. The equalizer curve is limited to RIAA, and there is only one input and one output. The circuit design has also been kept as simple as possible, allowing you to feel the superiority of vacuum tubes. By taking an approach that is the exact opposite of that of our flagship model, we have arrived at another pinnacle of phono equalizer technology. The moment the needle strikes the groove of a record, music is woven vividly from the compact body. Flip on the simply refined ATE-5 and vibrant, dynamic rhythms and melodies will fill your audio room.
The ATE-5 phono equalizer, which brings out the best in music from vinyl records, has been added to Airtight's lineup.
To amplify the audio signal while maintaining the highest possible purity, functions and contacts have been minimized. It only supports the RIAA curve and has a single input and output. The amplifier section is a two-stage NF-CR typeusing three 12AX7 tubes, with the same circuit configuration as the ATE-3011. The newly designed power supply section uses a largecapacity EI core power transformer with ample power. The vacuum tube heater is newly equipped with a regulator to stabilize the tubes and bring out the full potential of the amplifier stage, which
is made up of 12AX7 tubes from a variety of brands. The circuit boards and circuits are housed in a fully monocoque main chassis. The amplifier
section is fixed on a thick pure copper plate. It is unitized using a black chrome-plated inner chassis and suspended from the ceiling of the main chassis to control the resonance of the main chassis. The front panel is made of 10mm thick aluminum, machined on an NC lathe and anodized. To prevent damage when using a solid-state preamp and prevent noise when powered on, it features a timer relay circuit that shorts the output when the power is turned on. Both input and output can be
